I really hope it is not my taste buds
But this has had a sort of vile over chemical taste when using it as regular coffee. I even tried a brew with less coffee than a normal ground coffee to no real change.
So it might be OK for some, but for me it is now sitting in the recycling...
It puts some of the roughest supermarket instant coffees into a higher class.
